EPoliceSupply is located on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I thought you all might enjoy reading about the Motorcycle Parade held this past weekend to honor First Responders.
'The rumble of 50 motorcycles Saturday on Higgins Crowell Road announced the start of the third annual Cape Cod and Islands First Responder Appreciation Freedom Ride.
The 50-mile ride, held to honor police officers, firefighters, members of the armed forces and Good Samaritan, began at noon at the Yarmouth police station. The ride went to Chatham and back to South Yarmouth, led by local police officers on motorcycles with civilians on their bikes following behind.
Bourne patrol Officer Jared MacDonald, 44, who is on medical leave after being shot in the back in February during a police ambush in Bourne, was a guest of honor and rode in a police car during the ride.
Before the ride, all the civilian motorcycles were lined up in twos and threes in the police station parking lot.
“What is important is that this ride is a visible and loud symbol of support for all first responders who are constantly on duty to provide routine and emergency services to all,” Yarmouth police chief Frank Frederickson said to the crowd before the race began. “Motorcycles and motorcycle rides have always been a symbol of freedom, strength, pride and courage. They are uniquely American. Today the rumble of your bikes and your collective presence will show the region and the nation your support of first responders.”"
